SCBWI The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators
An international organization offering services to people who write, illustrate, or share a vital interest in children’s literature, the SCBWI acts as a network for the exchange of knowledge between writers, illustrators, editors, publishers, agents, librarians, educators, booksellers and others involved with literature for young people. Formed in 1971, there are currently more than 18,000 members worldwide.

GAGGraphic Artisit's Guild
GAG is a national union of illustrators, designers, web creators, production artists, surface designers and other creatives who have come together to pursue common goals, share their experience, raise industry standards, and improve the ability of visual creators to achieve satisfying and rewarding careers. Useful articles for writers and illustrators plus links to resources for writers, editors, teachers, librarians, parents, and others. A very informative site!
The Drawing Board For Illustrators - Loads of information for the beginning illustrator and writer. Includes quotes for the illustrator, and links to technique sites, although some of the links are outdated.
 Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators & Performers - (CANSCAIP) is a group of professionals in the field of children's culture with members from all parts of Canada.

CCBCCooperative Children's Book Center
CCBC is located at the School of Education in the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a unique examination, study and research library of children's and young adult literature. This site includes information about the CCBC collections, services, publications and upcoming events, as well as excellent links to other resources in the field.

     
    The Canadian Children's Book Centre Promotes and encourages reading. Has available a kit you can purchase on how to get started as a writer or illustrator in Canada.

The Caldecott Medal was named in honor of 19th century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott and is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.

    NCCIL - National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature is a non-profit organization. They provide recognition of the artistic achievements of illustrators and gallery exhibition of their works. They also design educational and entertaining programming that relates to illustrations in children's literature in order to stimulate creativity, promote literacy and to increase appreciation for art.
